The man depicted in this movie is totally fucked up. He is a good man but he seems to be cursed. Bad things come one by one, entangle into a mess and he cannot handle them.

I think what the movie is trying to say is that misfortunes in lives come naturally, even you have done nothing wrong. It is useless to find answers because you can do nothing to stop them or control them.
