Ace is a serve which was not returned. So the ability to ace the serve not only depends on the server, but also on the receiver.
This reminded me of how I was yelling at my ex girlfriend like a madman at her tennis match for highschool. She keep doublefaulting and give the other player points. Not that I am very good myself, but seeing her like that is really frustrating.
